does walmart/eb do/done midnight launches?

i wanna know if walmart would launch the wii at midnight or eb. is this a probability or rumor or what? i mean have they done this b4?

well it depends if you have a 24 hour walmart near you!
If you don't then they would sell it when ever they open.

I heard from a regional manager that they are not doing midnight releases as people get robbed more when they do it, he said they even had a case where a PS2 was stolen from an employee in the parking lot after they finished the midnight release, of course in Japan they were stealing PS2s in broad daylight then probably selling them for a huge mark-up. I would just make sure you go with at least one other person to get you console since all these people that had theirs stolen were alone.

My walmart is open 24 hours and it is doing sales at midnight. However, they will also know exactly how many systems they are getting and on Saturday they are lining up that many chairs and when those chairs are taken there are no more systems. So you might still have to camp out on saturday to get a system at midnight.

Also, when my Walmart did the Xbox 360 release at midnight you were escorted to your car after purchasing a system by a Columbus police officer carrying a shotgun. One of the craziest things I have ever seen but you felt completely safe. lol

No, I called a super Wal-Mart in my area that's open 24-7, and they told me they weren't putting the Wii's out until 8a. Whether EB and gamestop do a midnight release is up to the store manager; the folks I've talked to at my local gamestop haven't said anything about a midnight release to me. The easiest thing is still to just call and ask.
