Let There Be Rock
With WiiWare now launched in Japan, it now looks like we’ve all discovered the reason decided to announce its Wii Pay and Play service at the Game Developers Conference earlier on this year - because Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As A King is set to feature micro-transactions.
Before downloading the title, a warning screen appears to let players know that the game they are about to purchase will, at some point, also charge them for “[additional] data or services.”
Wired isn’t sure whether the extra downloadable content will just be free, but with the appearance of the red Wii Pay and Play logo, and in the knowledge that fellow WiiWare title Mojipittan will also offer paid-for added extras, we wouldn’t be surprised if Square Enix followed suit.
We’ll bring you more information on all of this as soon as we get it.
