Disney today announced that it’s bringing Phineas and Ferb to the Wii this summer, with the action-adventure game, Phineas and Ferb: Across the Second Dimension. Phineas and Ferb are already hugely popular in the UK in particular, where they became the highest reaching channel franchise property ever with a total audience of 9.2 million in summer 2010. In the forthcoming Wii game, fans can play as up to ten of their favourite characters, including Phineas, Ferb and Agent P, as they journey through all new dimensions,*across 25 levels,*in their quest to stop the evil Dr. Doofenshmirtz.

In the game, fans will have the option to work together with a friend in two-player cooperative mode, as they explore the imaginative environments, including an old-time 1928-style cartoon world, a lawn gnome land, and a gelatine world. Along the way you’ll have plenty of weird and wonderful gadgets to play with, including the Carbonator, that fires carbonated orange soda that can melt walls, and ninja gloves, that enable the player to stick to walls. More items and extra playable characters can also be unlocked as you make your way through the game, including a new OWSA special agent created especially for the game.

Fans will also be glad to hear that several of the actors from the popular TV series and movie will be lending their voices to the Wii game, including Vincent Martella as Phineas, Thomas Sangster as Ferb, Alyson Stoner as Isabella and show creators/executive producers Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh as Dr. Doofenshmirtz and Major Francis Monogram respectively. Here’s Povenmire talking about the forthcoming game:

“We collaborated closely with Disney’s video game development team to ensure that the video game captures the humour and style of our movie. The antics of the characters and the immersive new worlds of the video game will extend the experience fans will encounter in the*Phineas and Ferb: Across the Second Dimension.
