Cube game or controller??

Bought a wii and wanted the old games like sonic to play on it...so i bought a GC controller and Sonic the mega collection and burnout for the gamecube.

Burnout works allright but all sonic games go straight to demo version instead that i can play them....which is the meaning of a game.
Anything i should press on the controller to skip the demo's?
