Connecting my Wii to Monitor

I'm trying to connect my Wii to my PC monitor (19" Acer). I bought a VGA cable that connects the Wii to the monitor. When I connect it and turn it on, it says that there is an "Input Error."
Can anyone clarify?

Sorry. I fixed it. I had to change the settings in the Wii Console.
