Cannot hear music on Wii

I can hear sound effects during certain parts of a game, but I can never hear a game's music. I did what it said on Nintendo (press Home, go to Wii Remote Settings and adjust the volume), but it didn't work.

Does anyone know what the problem is? Help would be appreciated.
