Can a friend borrow my Mario Kart disc?

Hi

This may sound like a daft question. But, can my friend borrow my Mario Kart Wii disc to download onto his Wii console so that we can both play against each other. He doesn't have the Mario Kart game...is this legal to do or am I just the legal owner of my disc?

Hope someone can advise.

The game has to run from the disc, you can't install it onto the Wii itself.
