Activision Publishing has today announced the latest instalment in its popular Cabela’s Dangerous Hunts series. The brand new adventure introduces the all-new Top Shot Fearmaster wireless controller. Sensors are built into the controller’s grips, with gameplay varying based on how well, or poorly, for that matter, the player can control their fear. The more you can control your involuntary movements, the more your accuracy will increase, the more damage you will deal, and the more you will also be able to slow time down so that you can line up your shots. This is designed to replicate the control and cool head needed when hunting in the wild. And you’ll need to be at the top of your game in order to get the better of the predators you’ll be hunting in the game, with AI powered by the all-new Prowler system, making the beasts smarter and deadlier than ever before. Animals can now form pack social hierarchies, coordinate complex group tactics and take advantage of the surroundings to set up deadly ambushes. No two scenarios will be alike, so you’ll have to adapt your technique to deal with each new situation.
The game’s epic storyline comes from the pen of Andrew Kreisberg, from the Fringe TV series writing team, and revolves around the lives of two brothers who have become estranged after a grizzly bear kills their father. Ten years on, they reunite for the ultimate hunt. Gameplay also includes the new horde-based Maneater mode, with two-player co-operative gameplay where teamwork is essential as players try to stay alive as long as possible. Cabela’s Dangerous Hunts 2013 will be released on Wii on October 23, and will come in two versions, either with or without the Top Shot Fearmaster controller.
