Blinking Screen - VC games only

I've searched all over the place and can't find the subject addressed anywhere. All of my virtual console games blink while I'm playing them. This is incredibly annoying. Has anyone else had this happen? How can I fix it? Right now I have Super Mario Bros, Tecmo Bowl and Altered Beast.
