Best games for young children?

I've seen some of the advertisements for games like Diego and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, but I'm unsure about the ages they are geared for. Are these something a 3 year old could do? Or are they really for children 5 and up? I'd be interested in hearing any experiences you've had with these types of games.

Get your kid a Gamecube controller and Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg.

well if you want something a 3 year old could play then your better off getting learning games and such.

but if you want real games then stick with something easy and fun. most Mario games fall under this category.
