Bass Pro Shops: The Hunt Release Date and Details-1.052009-12-07 12:30:31Maura SAuthentic hunting games on the Wii™ are few and far between, so the arrival of screenshots from Piranha Games’ The Hunt caused a lot of interest when they appeared in the summer. There’s been very little heard about the game since then however, but now we have a brand new fact sheet to pore over and a solid release date of June 2010.
The hot-off-the-press details will make for some exciting reading for fans of hunting games. The Hunt includes an innovative motion-sensing rifle controller, developed by Psyclone, enabling maximum authenticity as players stalk and kill their prey in some of North America’s most famous hunting spots.
Just as in real-life hunting, once you get your prey in your sights, you must take into account all sorts of external factors before you make your shot, namely range, scent and stalking ability to name just a few. To aide you, aside from the usual weapons such as shotguns, side arms and bows, you have lots of authentic kit, including calls, scents, blinds, decoys, scopes, an ATV, and state-of-the-art GPS mapping technology.
Your prey will include such magnificent beasts as Whitetail deer, Mule deer, Elk and Moose, and each region will also feature “Legendary Animals”.
Players will get to hunt in ten realistic locations, all of which contain lots of different animals to hunt, hidden landmarks and quick-action missions.
There are three gameplay modes in total – Quick Hunt, Season Hunt and BPS Challenges. The multiplayer options include five social arcade games – Target Range Shooting, ATV Racing, Blind Fire, Duck Hunt and Forest Frenzy.
And for PETA members everywhere, don’t worry, the animals have a chance to get their own back too, with charging grizzlies and other wild predators aiming to turn the tables on the hunter, so players will have to be on their guard at all times, just like they would in the wild.
Bass Pro Shops: The Hunt is due for release in June 2010 for the Wii, at an SRP of $39.99 to $49.99. It has an anticipated ESRB rating of T for Teen.
