Bad internet = Wii broke?

So I came home from school, decided to fool around at the internet channel. My Wii didn't power up when I pushed the button. It was on stand by mode. I **** my pants until I re-plugged the power cable. Finally I could use the remote so I went to the channel and nothing happend... It froze. No home button, nothing worked. Does this have something to do with my extremely bad connection? Will it have worse results if it stays like this.

PS: Internet channel worked fine after re-download.

Nothing's wrong with my internet but the Internet Channel is very, very slow for me. Thank God I got my laptop back!

i have had problems with internet channel before. have you tried 'power-cycling' your router? unplug your router for 5 minutes and try again, it runs faster for me after that.

Internet channel is a nice touch but I find no use for it, besides pc/laptop internet is soooooo much faster.

Give your Wii a static IP address and setup your DNS with OpenDNS. Also set your MTU size to auto which is the number zero.
